Terms & Conditions

1. Company Details and Definitions

1.1. These Terms and Conditions govern the rental and use of rooftop tents from Pennine Roof Tents Hire,

 Who are Located near Penistone South Yorkshire

1.2. In these Terms and Conditions:

  • “Company” / “We” / “Us” Pennine Roof Tents
  • “Renter” / “You” means the person or entity entering into this agreement.

1.3. By making a booking or accepting delivery, the Renter acknowledges and agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.


2. Rental Agreement

2.1. By renting a rooftop tent from the Company, the Renter enters into a binding rental agreement governed by these Terms and Conditions.

2.2. The rental period begins on the date and time stated in the booking confirmation and ends when the tent is returned to the Company in the same condition as it was rented.

2.3. Late returns may be subject to additional fees.

2.4. The Renter must be at least 18 years old and provide valid identification.


3. Booking and Payment

3.1. A deposit may be required to secure a booking.

3.2. The full rental cost must be paid prior to or upon collection/delivery of the tent.

3.3. Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the rental date will be eligible for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours may be subject to a cancellation fee.

3.4. No refunds will be issued for early returns.


4. Security Deposit

4.1. A refundable security deposit is required at the time of rental.

4.2. The deposit will be refunded upon return of the tent in its original condition, subject to inspection.

4.3. The Company reserves the right to deduct from the deposit any costs arising from damage, loss, or excessive cleaning required.


5. Use of Equipment

5.1. The tent must only be used for its intended purpose and installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

5.2. The Renter is responsible for ensuring the tent is securely attached to the vehicle before use.

5.3. The Renter may not sublet, loan, or sell the tent.

5.4. The Renter must not modify the tent in any way.

5.5. The tent must be returned clean and in good working order.


5.6 Unavailable for festival hire 


6. Responsibility and Liability

6.1. The Renter assumes full responsibility for the tent during the rental period.

6.2. The Company is not liable for any injuries, accidents, or damages arising from misuse, improper installation, or external factors beyond the Company’s control.

6.3. The Renter is responsible for ensuring their vehicle is compatible with the tent and meets all necessary requirements.

6.4. The Renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Company from any claims, liabilities, or damages arising from the use of the tent.



8. Late Returns and Non‑Returned Equipment
8.1.The roof tents shall be returned no later than 10:30am on the date of return, so as to facilitate, safety checks, condition of the tent and cleaning ready for the next guest to use.

Any late returns will be subject to a £20:00 late return fee

82. The Renter may be charged the full replacement cost if the tent is lost, stolen, or not returned.


9. Damage and Replacement Costs

9.1. The Renter is responsible for any damage beyond normal wear and tear.

9.2. In the event of damage, the Renter may be charged for the cost of repair or full replacement.


9.3  Pennine roof tent hire accepts no responsibility for any damage caused by the misuse of the tent box during transit or whilst pitched at any location.


10. Insurance
10.1.We highly recommend that you take out travel insurance for here in the UK as well as Europe.

This should cover you for all eventualities ,i.e. cancellation due to bad weather, vehicle issues, campsite cancellations, ill health and also accidents whilst in transit. 

10.2. The Renter is responsible for ensuring their own travel or vehicle insurance covers the use of a rooftop tent.

10.3. The Company does not provide insurance for the tent or any damage to the Renter’s vehicle or property.


11. Force Majeure

11.1. The Company is not liable for delays, cancellations, or an inability to provide services due to unforeseen circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, severe weather, or equipment availability.


12. Governing Law

12.1. This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

12.2. Any dispute arising from this agreement shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.


13. Consumer Rights and Cooling‑off Period

13.1. If the Renter is a consumer and the agreement is made online or by phone, the Renter may have a right to cancel within 14 days of making the booking, in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

13.2. This right to cancel does not apply if the Renter expressly requests the service to begin within that period and the service has been fully performed.


14. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

14.1. The Company reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.

14.2. Changes will be communicated on the Company’s website and apply to future rentals.
